evening, city aldermen welcomed Joe Mester as a
probational city officer for the city of
Lincoln. Mester hails from the Petersburg
area and has served in the Menard County
Sheriff's Department, the Petersburg Police
Department and most recently with the Secretary
of State Police, where he was assigned as a
capitol police investigator. Mester is a
firearms range instructor and a field training
officer.

Club in New York City. Diller, the housewife turned

evening the city of Lincoln said goodbye to a local icon. After nearly 44 years, Dan Tackett is retiring from the Lincoln
Courier. Mayor Keith Snyder presented Tackett with a
plaque of appreciation for his years of reporting local news.
