At issue are high-strength synthetic fibers used in products such as Kevlar body armor. The judge on Thursday barred Kolon Industries from producing any para-aramid fibers for 20 years. He also issued a permanent injunction against Kolon's use of DuPont trade secrets.
Kolon said it would appeal the ruling, which the company said prohibits it from using its own technology.
The judge earlier this year upheld a jury's finding that Kolon had maliciously and willfully misappropriated DuPont's Kevlar technology. He also upheld the jury's $920 million damage award in favor of DuPont and rejected Kolon's antitrust claims against DuPont.
DuPont is based in Wilmington, Del.
