Cut fiber optic disrupts Lincoln Internet service.

Late Monday morning a trencher laying new cable north of McLean cut operating fiber optic line that feeds Internet to the Lincoln area. In the forefront a crew continues to lay cable for Mediacom, while just hundreds of yards north, a repair crew for Frontier completes repairs to the operational spliced fiber optic line. Two breaks had been located and repaired by midmorning on Tuesday.  By late afternoon internet services appeared to be coming back slowly.  By this morning, it appears all is well once again.

"What should I do today?" Through the holiday season there are a lot of activities going on. Make a list, plan your shopping, eat out to avoid cooking, and save gas and time by taking advantage of all the things you can find locally...

Wednesday

OK, so you feel like you just have to leave town to go shopping. We understand. So, leave town... go to Elkhart!

Plan on taking a little extra time, because the two stores we're featuring in Elkhart are not places you'll peruse quickly. At Birdsong Books and Vintage you'll find hundreds of amazing gift ideas for the ones on your list who love vintage and out-of-the-ordinary items.

Horsefeathers Antiques is another really wonderful place to shop in Elkhart. For those who love antiques and fantastically beautiful items, there is no doubt you'll find the perfect gift to put under their tree!

And, before you leave town, drop in at the Wild Hare Cafe and have an excellent meal.
