The
Whistle Stop Library in Emden celebrated Valentine's Day on
Thursday by serving special treats and offering cards for
children to fill out for school parties. Nicole Briggs visited
the former depot-turned-library with her sons, MacArthur, a
second-grader, and Hudson, age 2. More than 30 kids from the town came for
snacks and fun after school, including (from left) Cassie
Crabtree, a first-grader, and twins JoJo and Serina Baker, in third
grade. LaDonna Gass is the volunteer librarian and activity
coordinator for the library.
