Betty Jean Purdue, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at
The Christian Village Nursing Home.

Betty Jean Purdue, 87, of Lincoln passed away
Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Christian Village
Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held at Holland Barry &
Bennett Funeral Home Thursday, February 16, 2012 at
11:00 A.M. with Father Laible officiating. Burial
will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln, IL.
There will be no public visitation.
Betty was born April 14, 1924 in Lincoln, Illinois
the daughter of Barney Lela (Sullivan) Malony.
She married Gerald Purdue in September 0f 1945. He
preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons Stephen (Diana) Purdue
of Lincoln, IL. and Gary (Susan) Purdue of
Cincinnati, OH.; Grandchildren; Todd Purdue of
Quincy, IL., Rod Purdue of Clinton,IL., Tim Purdue
of Springfield, MO, Wendy Croegaert of Heyworth,
IL., Bridget of Columbia, OH, Martha (James) Monroe
of Lexington, KY, eleven Great-Grandchildren, 3
Great-great Grandchildren, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church
in Lincoln as well as being a member of IBEW, The
Eagles Lodge, KC's Daughters of Isabella and the
American Legion Auxiliary. Betty was a telephone
operator for 30 years.
Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church
or to the organization of the donor's choice and
will be accepted at the funeral home.
