register entries for this year's fair
The Logan County Fair office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. All
grandstand tickets are on sale now. Fair books are in and can be picked up
at the office. Fair entries began July 2 and the deadline is July 25.
Entries for the chili cook-off, talent contest and demo derby can be made in

Lady Railer Jr. High Extreme
Volleyball Camp
Lady Railer Jr. High Extreme Volleyball Camp, hosted by Lincoln Community
High School, will run Monday-Wednesday, July 9-11, for all girls entering
first through eighth grades this fall.
The camp will be directed by Dawn Crawford, head varsity coach at
LCHS.
The cost is $60 and the deadline is July 5.

Roost to host author Sherri Smith book signing
The Owl’s Roost will host a book signing July 14 with author Sherri
Smith, of Decatur.
What: Smith will be available to sign copies of
her new book, "Bitter Water."
When: July 14, 2:30 p.m.
Where: Owl's Roost Bookstore, 427 Pulaski St.
The heroine of the book has come back home to try to find where
her genetic eye disease came from. No one in her family has it. She
also wants to reconcile with her parents and start a new life with a
new awareness of her past, in preparation for a brighter future. The
author leads the reader through "Bitter Water," with the promise of
a brighter tomorrow on the other side.
