IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FOR
THOSE WITH LAPSED TEACHING CERTIFICATES!
If you
have allowed your teaching/administrative certificate to lapse,
Public Act 97-607, passed last August, required you to complete 9
semester hours to restore your certificate.
UPDATE!!! A new law, fought for by the Regional Superintendents
of Schools, has given you two options to renew your certificate(s):
1. If your lapse occurred because you failed to do professional
development, you would owe $500 and any back fees.
2. If your lapse occurred due to failure to pay past registration
fees, you would only owe all of the back fees at this time.
THIS
IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO RE-ACTIVATE YOUR CERTIFICATE, BUT YOU MUST
ACT QUICKLY, AS THESE OPTIONS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A VERY SHORT
TIME!!!
If you
would like more information on how to re-activate your lapsed
certificate please call the Regional Office of Education in Lincoln
at 217-732-8388 or in Havana at 309-543-2192.
We will
be happy to assist you!
