Illico presents grant to Special Olympics Illinois

NORMAL -- Illico Inc., a marketer
servicing BP stations throughout Lincoln, has teamed up with Special
Olympics Illinois to help build awareness of recreational and
competitive sports for children and adults with intellectual
disabilities. Illico presented a BP Fueling Communities grant
donation of $6,500, which will help support Special Olympics sports
competition and training throughout the state.

Illico President Dave Golwitzer presented a check for $6,500 at the
Special Olympics state headquarters in Normal to Dave Breen,
president and CEO of Special Olympics Illinois; Suzanne Thompson,
who chairs the organization's board of directors; and Taylor Reidel,
an athlete. The BP Fueling Communities program provides grants to
local organizations nominated by BP's branded marketers in order to
support the communities in which they do business. The program gives
back to local organizations that support health, education, youth,
food and housing to spread charity and good will.
Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization
offering year-round training and competition in 19 sports for more
than 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than
11,000 young athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual
disabilities. Special Olympics changes lives by empowering people
with intellectual disabilities to realize their full potential in
sports and in life. Special Olympics programs enhance physical
fitness, motor skills, self-confidence, social skills and encourage
family and community support.
