Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: With all the vigorous discussion and vociferous
debate about the future of pensions for public employees, I only
have one question: What are our legislators in the Statehouse and
Congress willing to sacrifice?
We have been saving for our retirements for years. We have paid
into pension accounts our whole working life. Our pensions were
promised to us for the work we did. Now our state legislators and
Congress both want to penalize the very workers who are paying their
salaries and help support the middle class in this whole country.
What do these muckety-mucks have against hardworking people?
