[June 11, 2012]  WASHINGTON (AP) -- The defense plans to wrap up its case Monday in the Roger Clemens perjury trial, followed by rebuttal witnesses for the government.

Prosecutor Steve Durham says he expects the rebuttal to take about a half-day.

The trial recessed Friday with FBI agent John Longmire on the stand under cross-examination by Durham. Longmire was a government witness earlier, but the defense recalled him as a witness too. He will return to the stand Monday.

Clemens' lawyer Rusty Hardin told U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton that he might have one more witness after Longmire. The judge wants the lawyers to give closing arguments Tuesday. He'll then send the case to the jury with his instructions.

The trial is entering its ninth week.
