You've
already read about him, and if you were at the
Middletown Homecoming parade Saturday, you've
already seen him, but if not, here he is: Logan
County's newest Abe. This larger-than-life
replica of the statue that sits in the Lincoln
Memorial in Washington, D.C., was rescued from a
trash bin in Springfield by county board member
Kevin Bateman. The replica has been entrusted to
the care of John Sutton of the Abraham Lincoln
National Railsplitting Festival.
Saturday it seemed only fitting that the new Abe would
make his first-ever public appearance at the
first-ever Middletown Homecoming parade.
