[May 25, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Thursday afternoon, with soybeans higher and corn and wheat lower.

Technical buying at the Board of Trade and stronger soybean product values helped to lift soybean futures.

Corn futures were lower, weakened by lower than expected weekly export sales figures.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 26 to 27 cents lower at 5.91-6.00.

Soybean bids traded 16 to 18 cents higher at 13.48-13.60.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 23 to 25 cents lower at 5.97-6.14.

Soybean bids were 11 to 14 cents higher at 13.55-13.74.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 23 to 25 cents lower at 5.98-6.32.

Soybean bids were 13 to 14 cents higher at 13.63-13.81.

Wheat bids were mostly 3 to 4 cents lower at 6.32-6.49.
