It
seems everywhere you look these days, people are
doing things to enhance the beauty of our city. Today it was noticed that the benches and
planters have arrived at the Lincoln Theater. Theater owner David Lanterman told the Lincoln
City Council a few weeks ago that he was
purchasing heavy steel benches to sit outside
his movie house. The city was asked only
to assist in attaching the benches to the
concrete for safety and security purposes.

A boat passes a
giant image hanging from a building on the south bank of the
River Thames in London, showing Britain's Queen Elizabeth II,
fifth left, and the royal family, from left, Prince Charles,
Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, Earl Mountbatten, Prince Phillip,
Mark Phillips and Princess Anne standing on the balcony of
Buckingham Palace during the queen's 1977 Silver Jubilee. The giant canvas, measuring 100 meters by
70 meters and weighing nearly 2 tons, was officially unveiled
Friday and will be displayed until the end of June, in
celebration of the Diamond Jubilee, marking the queen's 60-year
reign.
