LINCOLN -- Muriel K. Barnard, 56, of
Lincoln, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 12:50 a.m. at St.
Clara's Manor.

LINCOLN-Muriel K. Barnard, 56, of Lincoln passed
away at 12:50 a.m. on November 16, 2012 at St.
Clara's Manor, Lincoln.
Muriel was born on May 4, 1956 in Germany, the
daughter of George W. and Eva Hunter Dahmm. She
married John Barnard April 1, 1995 in Lincoln
and he survives in Lincoln.
She is survived by three sisters: Georgia (Bill)
Allison of Lincoln; Laura (Charlie) Tomlinson of
Beason; and Vivian (Gerardo) Valdes of Lincoln.
Nieces and nephews: Jason Duzan, Christy Waugh, Jill
Johnson, Ben Barnard, Nathan Barnard, Mathew
Barnard, Will Tomlinson, Jason Tomlinson, Lewis
Allison, Elise Valdes, Esther Tomlinson, Fay
Allison, and Alejandro Valdes; 23 great nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents
and sister, Donna Marie and father-in-law: J. B.
Barnard.

Muriel was a Registered Nurse in the surgery
department at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She
was a graduate of St. John's School of Nursing in
1977 and she loved teaching and working as a nurse.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of
Lincoln. She loved spending time with family
especially nieces and nephews; loved camping,
quilting, cooking and traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church of Lincoln with Rev. Clarence Mankin
officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 23 from
4:00-7:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements were
entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,
Lincoln.
Memorials may be given to St. John's College of
Nursing Scholarship Fund, the Logan County Paramedic
Association or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. A
celebration of life will immediately follow funeral
services, at the Knights of Columbus, Lincoln, IL.
