A yearly tradition for many individuals and families in the
community, the Turkey Trot features a three-mile run with prizes in
various age groups from 14 and under to the 65-plus category, a
half-mile fun run for ages 8 and under and 9-14, and a 1.5-mile
noncompetitive walk. The Turkey Trot takes place rain, shine or
snow.
Registration begins at the Miller Park Pavilion at 8 a.m. on race
day, and the first race begins at 9 a.m. It is free to register and
participate.
"The Turkey Trot is a wonderful activity for people of all ages
and fitness levels," says Denise Balagna, athletics program manager
for the city of Bloomington. "It's definitely an event that
everyone, even little kids and seniors, can enjoy. It's a wonderful
way to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday!"
