[September 05, 2012]  The LCHS boys soccer team upped their overall record to 2-4 and improved their record in the CS8 to 2-1 with an 8-1 drubbing of Springfield Southeast Tuesday night.

The goals came early and often, with LCHS senior Tommy Harris tallying a goal 30 seconds into the game. Nine minutes later, his hat trick was complete. With a comfortable 7-0 lead at halftime, the IHSA mercy rule was applied, and the second half was shortened. The Spartans finally tallied a goal with 1 minute left in regulation.

LCHS goals were scored by Harris, 3; Kyle Klockenga, 1; Ryan Sloan, 1; Trace Splain, 1; Harrison Splain, 1; and Grant Cooper, 1. Klockenga, Splain and Leith also had assists.

Lincoln plays next at Warrensburg-Latham on Thursday, with the varsity game kicking off at 4:30 p.m.
