Numerous fire departments
and police were on the scene. UPDATE, 3:43 p.m. -- According to Illinois
State Police trooper N.L. Baker, school officials reported that
there was a weapon on campus. Precautionary measures were taken and
the school was put on lockdown.
There was no one hurt; all are
safe. Students were being accounted for and then would be
released. Students are now going home.
The Mason County Sheriff's
Department is the primary agency. Illinois State Police, SWAT
and investigative teams were also called to assist.
