matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get

To the editor: I would like to take a moment to publicly apologize
to the crossing guard who works at the corner of Union and Eighth
St.
I got irritated at her (Thursday) when I felt that she was
standing in the middle of the road, for what my mind felt was too
long, but it really wasn't. I honked at her and asked her if she
couldn't learn to do her job better. I embarrassed not only myself,
but my daughter and her friend.
[to top of second column in this letter] |
I went back to the crossing guard about 15 minutes later and
apologized for my actions and words. I not only owed her that
apology, but my daughter also needed to see me apologize for my
behavior. I do not want my daughter to think it is OK to say
whatever you feel just because you're too impatient, and I want my
daughter to know that when you're wrong, you make things right and
apologize.
So to the crossing guard at the junior high and Central crossing,
I say, "I'm very sorry!!!"
Sincerely,
Susan Newton
