Illinois country grain prices were
on slightly lower Monday afternoon. Fund and speculative selling
helped to push grain futures lower.
Negative outside market influences
also helped to weaken prices.
In the Weekly Crop Progress
Report, the USDA estimated the Illinois corn harvest was now 54%
complete and the states' soybean harvest was 8% done.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids mostly 2 to 4 cents lower at 7.23-7.37.
Soybean bids were 8 to 12 cents
lower at 15.80-15.92.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 3 to 5 cents lower at 7.41-7.56.
Soybean bids were mostly 8 to 12
cents lower at 15.92-16.10.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 1 to 3
cents lower at 7.41-7.60.
Soybean bids were 9 to 10 cents
lower at 15.90-16.05. Wheat bids were 6 to 10 cents lower at
8.52-8.72.
