			Mark Coons, 55, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at 5:12 
			p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.)

							Lincoln- Mark Coons, 55, of Lincoln passed away on 
							Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 5:12 p.m. at Memorial 
							Medical Center in Springfield. 
							According to Mark's wishes Cremation Rites have been 
							accorded. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted 
							to Peasley Funeral Home. 
							A Celebration of Mark's life will be held on Sunday, 
							October 13, 2013 at the American Legion Post #263 in 
							Lincoln. 
							Robert Mark Coons was born on January 12, 1958 in 
							Lincoln the son of Robert F. and Donna Sue Wasson 
							Coons. He married Debra Russell on August 15, 2007 
							in Lincoln. She survives. 
							Also surviving are his mother: Donna Sue Creager of 
							Lincoln, his father: Robert F. (Kay) Coons of 
							Palmetto, Fl., his children: Megan (Tom) Leahy of 
							Noblesville, Ind., Mallory Coons of East Peoria, 
							Mason Coons of Springfield.his sister: Donetta Baker of Lincoln. two 
							grandchildren Ronyn and Finnegan Leahy. his nephew: 
							Brian (Katie) Baker of Deer Creek. one great niece: 
							Elizabeth Baker.
 
							He was preceded in death by one brother: Robbie 
							Coons. | 
                 
		 
							Mark graduated from the Lincoln Community High 
							School in 1976 and then attended Southern Illinois 
							University in Carbondale. 
							He retired from the Lincoln City Police Department 
							where he attained the rank of Corporal after 28 
							years of service. 
							Mark was a member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210 
							AF & AM, Ansar Shrine Club, and Logan County Shrine 
							Club, Eagles #2708 in Lincoln. American Legion Post 
							#263 SAL.  
							Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan
