Honored balloonists
Jim and Nancy Ireland cut the ribbon at the Logan County Airport on Thursday
evening, kicking off pre-celebration of the 40th Lincoln Art & Balloon
Festival.
On hand to welcome everyone were Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder; Andi Hake,
executive director of the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce; Leslie Hoefle,
interim director of the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County; and chamber
ambassadors.
Happy that the moment to begin had come, Hake said, "It's always a long road to
get here.”
Hoefle said, "Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County is proud to be a
sponsor of the most spectacular event in all of Logan County."

Children pet albino hedgehogs in a private zoo
in Moscow, Russia, on Thursday. Three rare albino hedgehog babies,
born on the same day as Britain's new prince, have moved into a miniature castle
at a Moscow petting zoo. The three are named after the Prince of Cambridge --
George, Alexander and Louis. On Thursday, when they turned 1 month old, they
were shown their new home at the All-Russia Exhibition Center.
