[August 22, 2013]
Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder and
4th Ward Alderman Jeff Hoinacki, the city council's coordinator for
the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival, have announced the winners in
the city's Art & Balloon Festival giveaway.

As a Prime Sponsor of the festival, the city of Lincoln receives
several benefits and complimentary items. This year, as it has for
each of the past four years, the city chose to share those benefits
with the citizens and taxpayers of Lincoln, the folks who underwrite
the cost of city's sponsorship and every other activity of city
government. There were 124 entries in
the giveaway contest. Boxes for entries were placed in City Hall,
the Lincoln Public Library and the office of the Lincoln/Logan
County Chamber of Commerce. The winners' names were pulled from all
the entries in a drawing conducted in the mayor's office at 4:30
p.m. Wednesday. Listed below are the winners:
-
Matthew Fish, of
North McLean Street
-
Kim Hall, of North
Adams Street
-
Elaine Knight, of
Eighth Street
-
Shelley Spellman,
of Rutledge Drive
-
Amy Tippett, of Nicholson Road

Each of the winners will receive a prize package that includes
two admission passes to the airport for all weekend, two 2013 Art &
Balloon Festival pins, and two Art & Balloon Festival T-shirts.
The city thanks all the contestants who entered and wishes
everyone a safe, fun and delightful weekend.
The news release from the city said in conclusion: "We hope
everyone in Lincoln is able to participate in as many of the
festival events as they can. Remember also, each of us is an
ambassador to all the visitors we'll have in town all weekend.
Please make them feel welcome and provide any assistance you can."
