Loreen Givan Durst, 83, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, in
Lincoln.

Loreen Givan Durst, 83, of Lincoln passed away on
December 24, 2013 in Lincoln.
Mrs. Durst was the daughter of George and Viola
(Meyer) Lathrom and was born on September 22, 1930
in Lincoln. She married Barney Durst and he preceded
her in death.
She is survived by her children Steve (Deborah)
Givan of Lincoln, Todd (Judy) Givan of Lincoln, Mike
(Cec) Durst of Blythewood, SC, Kenny (Marla) Durst
of Mt. Pulaski, Jayne (Marc) Seitz of Mt. Pulaski,
her grandsons Chad (Liliana) Givan of Athens, Dusty
(Devlyn) Givan of Lincoln, and Robbie Givan, her
great-grand children Maria Givan of Lincoln and
Michael Givan of Athens, her step
great-grandchildren Zane Hubrich and Britney Hubrich,
her sister Joyce Kennett of Lincoln, her aunt Mary
Hunt of Lincoln, and several nieces, nephews and
close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, and brothers Art Lathrom and George Lathrom.

Loreen worked in the Circuit Clerk and County Clerk
offices in the Logan County Court House for more
than 30 years. She was also involved in the founding
of Givan and Wyles Construction and Givan and Wyles
Ace Hardware. She volunteered at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital and The Oasis and was a member of
the Emblem Club and several other Lincoln
organizations. Her church home was Jefferson Street
Christian Church, Lincoln, IL.
A memorial gathering in her honor will be held at
Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home on
Monday, December 30, 2013, 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a
memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Pastor
Henry Johnson will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Jefferson Street
Christian Church and will be received by the church
or by Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home.
