It was a long and exhausting evening for firefighters from several departments around the region last night. A fire at the Oasis Senior Center in downtown Lincoln brought in departments from as far away as Sherman and Latham. The fire that was reported around 5:30 last evening took over three hours to extinguish. To the credit of the Lincoln Fire Department and all those who assisted, the blaze did not spread to the adjacent building, which houses several business offices as well as apartments.
