Ward 1 Alderwoman Melody Anderson pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat at the first voting session of the fiscal year for the Lincoln City Council. Actually it was a stunt aimed at bringing a chuckle from the eight aldermen who were about to draw lots to find out whether they would serve two-year or four-year terms on the council. It was also a historic event for the city, as this year all eight aldermen ran for election due to the reduction in the number of wards in the city. LDN will have complete coverage of the meeting and several more photos in its Wednesday edition. Photos by Nila Smith (Click on image for larger version.) |
