No. 1 UConn routs Philadelphia 93-28

[November 06, 2013]  HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Morgan Tuck scored 16 points to lead six players in double figures as No. 1 Connecticut defeated Philadelphia University 93-28 in a women's exhibition game Monday night.

Breanna Stewart added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, who jumped out to a 30-3 lead and built the advantage to as many as 65 points in the second half.

Monica Schacker scored 16 points to lead Philadelphia, which shot 16 percent and committed 27 turnovers.

Philadelphia, a Division II school, briefly led 3-2 on a 3-pointer by Mary Newell just 46 seconds into the game. But Tuck, who scored 10 first-half points, responded with a basket at 18:58 and that triggered a 28-0 run by the Huskies.

After Saniya Chong (13 points) scored to give UConn a 30-3 lead, the Rams snapped a 0-for-11 streak from the field with five consecutive points. They trailed 50-13 at the half.
