Last week the Hamilton Street whitetopping project began with plans that it would be finished by Monday, but that didn't happen. According to Prairie Engineers, the special laser equipment needed to pour the concrete was unavailable last week. The whitetopping is scheduled to take place by the end of this week, with the road being open again by next Monday. In the meantime, the Pulaski Street project did start on schedule Monday, making for a little bit of congestion with both roads being under construction at once. Pulaski Street will have one lane open throughout the process, which will allow vehicle traffic and customer access to businesses on the street. Mayor Keith Snyder said Monday that one local business has voiced concerns about the construction, but the city has taken all of that into account in planning and overseeing the project, and while some disruption is inevitable, the city hopes to keep it at a minimum.
