Obituary
Atlanta -- David G. Evans, 67, of Atlanta, passed
away Friday, December 5, 2014, at 3:15 p.m. at his
home.
Funeral services for Mr. Evans will be held on
Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Atlanta Christian Church. Mr. Maurice Stribling will
officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on
Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Atlanta Christian
Church.
Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
David Gene Evans was born July 9, 1947, in
Bloomington, the son of Thomas and Janette Cox
Evans. He was united in marriage to Linda Booher on
February 3, 1968, in Atlanta. She survives.
Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; their children:
Timothy (Tonya) Evans of Fairbury, Cindy (Keith)
Eimer of Atlanta and Sarah Evans of Champaign; his
father, Tom, of Lincoln; his twin sister, Diane
(Tom) Winkler of Bloomington, and six grandchildren:
Carter Evans, Jackson Evans, Payton Evans, Marli
Evans, Camden Boitnott and Elyse Eimer. |
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Dave continued a family tradition by purchasing his
grandfather's implement dealership, turning Cox
Implement Dealership in Lawndale into Evans
Implement. He later became a partner in Central
Illinois Ag.
Following graduation from Atlanta High School in
1965, Dave attended Eastern Illinois University. He
was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church and
enjoyed golfing, boating and going to ballgames. He
especially loved spending time with family in the
Ozarks.
Dave will be greatly missed by his family and
friends.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Christian
Church, Atlanta Fire Department or Atlanta Rescue
Squad.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
