Choristers from seven local churches will present two performances of the annual Community Christmas Cantata "I Believe....He's The Son of God" this Sunday, December 14. The 10:30 a.m. presentation will be at St. John United Church of Christ, Seventh and Maple Street, Lincoln. The second presentation will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1409 Pulaski St., Lincoln at 7 p.m. Both presentations are open to the public with no admission charge.

LCHS speakers won five events at the Bloomington tournament Saturday. The Speech Team placed 6th of 19 teams overall and the tournament champions are pictured here: Claire Conrady won in both varsity Dramatic Interpretation and Original Comedy; Zac McCray and Braden Tanner in varsity Humorous Duet Acting; Tanner and Justin Woods in varsity Dramatic Duet Acting; and Lena Stapleton in junior varsity Dramatic Interpretation.

Carol Skorzak of Lincoln has been named the 2014 Employee of the Year at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. The honor was presented at the annual ALMH Holiday and Awards Celebration held this year on December 5 at the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln.

The Mount Pulaski Grade School girls basketball team is headed to state. The Honeybears defeated Morton Blessed Sacrament 42-35 Wednesday night to advance to the IESA 8-1A state tournament at Clinton Junior High School this Saturday.
