			NEW HOLLAND - Robert Owens, 88 , of New 
			Holland, went to be with his beloved Oka at 8 p.m. on Friday 
			December 12, 2014 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.  |

							Obituary 
							 
							Robert Owens, 88 , of New Holland, went to be with 
							his beloved Oka at 8 p.m. on Friday December 12, 
							2014 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in 
							Lincoln. 
 Robert was born on June 29, 1926 in Hoopeston, IL to 
							James and Margaret L. Osman Owens. He married Oka 
							Morris on March 23, 1947. She preceded him in death 
							on August 7, 2004.
 
 Surviving him are two daughters Janet (Mike) 
							Buttitta of Bloomington, and Karen Sparks of New 
							Holland, one son Bruce (Fran) Owens of Marion, IN, 
							two brothers, James Owens of Paxton, and Danny 
							(Susie) Owens of Danville, one sister, Imogene 
							(John) Swick of Fithian, 11 grandchildren and 22 
							great-grandchildren.

							Robert and Oka were the owners of the New Holland 
							Grain Company for 21 years and was a previous mayor 
							of New Holland. Robert graduated from Armstrong 
							Township High School and served his country in WWII. 
							He was a member of the New Holland Methodist Church. 
							Services for Robert will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday 
							December 17, 2014 at the New Holland United 
							Methodist Church with Rev. Becky Barrow officiating. 
							Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening 
							at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. 
							Burial will be at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New 
							Holland. Memorials may be made to the New Holland 
							United Methodist Church or to the New Holland 
							American Legion.
