Memorial to host expert physician panel on treatment options for hip and knee problems

[February 08, 2014]  SPRINGFIELD — A free seminar later this month at Memorial Medical Center will feature an expert physician panel discussing treatment options for hip and knee problems.

The seminar will on Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Carpenter Conference Center at 224 W. Carpenter St. in Springfield.

Doctors on the panel will be Leo Ludwig, of the Orthopedic Center of Illinois; Khaled Saleh, SIU HealthCare; Scott Sattovia, Associated Anesthesiologists of Springfield; and Dan Adair, Springfield Clinic. They will discuss disorders and treatments of the hip and knee, including:

• Nonoperative treatments for arthritis.

• Total joint replacement surgery.

• Innovations in orthopedics.

• Anesthesia and pain management in total joint replacement surgery.

• Patient optimization prior to an elective orthopedic procedure.

Participants are encouraged to bring questions for the panel.
