Los Angeles Angels: Trout, Mike OF Mike Trout is likely to have his contract renewed by the
Angels in March, the parties are expected to negotiate a
multiyear extension that will make Trout one of the highest paid
players in baseball, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Trout, 22, is famous for two things: being the American League
MVP runner-up to Detroit 3B Miguel Cabrera the past two years,
and being grossly underpaid for his contributions.
He hit .323 with 27 home runs, 97 RBIs, 33 stolen bases and a
league-leading 110 walks in 2013, when he made $510,000.
However, Trout would be eligible for salary arbitration after
the 2014 season if a new deal is not signed.
Minnesota Twins: Raley, Brooks LHP Brooks Raley was claimed off waivers by the Twins from the
Cubs on Feb. 12. Raley, 25, had no record and a 5.14 ERA in nine
relief appearances for Chicago last year. He went 1-2 with an
8.14 ERA in five starts for the Cubs in 2012.
