Lincoln Junior High School eighth-grade student Ariana Spencer reads to third-grader James Osborne from a book that she helped to write. The eighth-grade class did research and wrote a book entitled "The Heroes, The stories of Civil Rights Leaders of the 20th Century." In honor of Black History Month, the authoring students shared their writing with the Central School third-graders on Wednesday, then presented them with a copy of the book for their classroom.

Today we're giving you a long view of our snow pile for one reason. While the pile isn't changing much, take a peek in the lower left-hand corner. That dark area is the pavement at the CCA/LDN parking lot. Around town yesterday there were several "wet" areas on the streets where the thick layer of snow and ice was starting to break up. That in itself is something we haven't seen in Lincoln for quite some time!

The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions men’s basketball team played host to Kuyper College at Gaston Arena early Thursday evening. LCU fell behind early and made a heroic effort to come back. But in the end they could not prevail, falling to Kuyper 79-70.
