Sunday afternoon one guest at
the Lincoln Park District Sweetheart Dance commented that it was a
regular heat wave outside. Indeed the temperatures had
actually risen into the high teens, and compared with what we've
felt
in Lincoln over the last few weeks, that was indeed warm.
Perhaps that and the cabin
fever that comes with heavy winter snows helped bring scores of
people out to the annual dance. As guests arrived, many of the
special couples were dads with daughters and mothers with sons. There were some who came as a complete family, and a couple of fellas came "stag,"
perhaps hoping to pick up a new girlfriend.
