Crop Scouting Workshop Series scheduled

[June 10, 2014]  LINCOLN - June 11, 2014 will kick-off the 24th year of the Crop Scouting Workshop Series. Blair Hoerbert will host the session at his farm in rural San Jose in Logan County. The featured speaker for the day is Dennis Bowman, Extension Educator in Commercial Agriculture Field Crops. Bowman will cover aspects of using drones in scouting, as well as current pest and management topics.

Other sessions are scheduled for June 25 (hosted by Richard Martin of rural Lincoln) and July 9 (co-hosted by John Adams and Doug Thompson of rural Atlanta at the Adams Farm). All sessions run from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A combination of classroom style presentation and hands-on field experience is used. CCA credits have been applied for at all sessions. There is no requirement for pre-registration. Participants are asked to bring along a lawn or folding chair for the classroom session presentation.
