            		LINCOLN — Laura Louise Slayton, 79, 
			died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 8:21 p.m. at her home. (Below is a copy of 
							the obituary from the funeral home.) ___ 
							Lincoln- Laura Louise Slayton, 79, passed away on 
							March 8, 2014 at 8:21 P.M. 2014 at her home 
							surrounded by her family. 
							Laura was born on September 22, 1934 in Lincoln, IL, 
							daughter of James and Beulah F. Rose Harris. She 
							married Lloyd Slayton Sr. on August 17, 1951. He 
							preceded her in death on January 15, 2002.  
							Also surviving are her children: Laura D Slayton of 
							Lincoln, IL; Lloyd "Ed" (Bridget) Slayton Jr. of 
							Lincoln, IL; Cynthia (Tim) Jackson of Lincoln, IL; 
							Roger Slayton of Middletown, IL; one brother: Jim (Ardella) 
							Harris Jr of MO. of Lincoln, IL; two sisters: Faye 
							Jones of WI and Kay Petro Springfield; one 
							sister-in-law: Pat Harris of Springfield; eight 
							grandchildren: Christina (Kyle Jr.) Alexander of 
							Lincoln, Brad Slayton of FL, Erika (Damon) King of 
							TX, Nicole (David) Cintron of TX, Rachael (Janson) 
							Seach of OK, Megan Jackson of Lincoln, Tim Jackson 
							Jr. of Lincoln, and Katie Slayton of Lincoln; eight 
							great-grandchildren. | 
                    
					 
							She was preceded in death by her parents, two 
							brothers Bub and Aaron Harris, one sister Eva Hill, 
							and one sister-in-law Elaine Harris. 
							Laura was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church. 
							She will also be best remembered for her annual 
							Easter party she held for family and friends along 
							with her orange cake she baked. 
							Services for Laura will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday 
							March 12, 2014 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral 
							Home in Lincoln with Tracy Thomas officiating. 
							Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday March 11, 
							2014 also at the funeral home. Burial at Zion 
							Cemetery will follow the service. Memorials may be 
							made to the Ronald McDonald House. |
