On Friday, Norman "Norm" and Virginia Newhouse will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

They were married on March 14, 1964, at the First United Methodist Church in Lincoln. The Rev. Bear officiated the ceremony.

Norm is now retired but for many years was known as the face of Mitchell-Newhouse Lumber in Lincoln.

The couple have two children, Kevin (and Roni) and Dianna, and enjoy two grandchildren, Amber and Jennifer, and three great-grandchildren: Olivia, Jacob and Owen.

For "dramatic effect," we're comparing the Monday picture of our snow pile with the picture from Friday. Over the weekend and into Monday, the warmer temperatures made a significant difference in the shape and size of our pile.  We're going to see this through no matter what. We won't stop until the pile disappears. Unfortunately, the weatherman is predicting slushy snow on Wednesday, but quickly returning to warmer temperatures, so hopefully it won't have much of an effect on our pile.
