Representatives from Reuters |
Mary
Kelley and Chuck Ruben |
Little more than a
dozen people were on hand in the Logan County Courthouse rotunda on Tuesday
evening to watch as live election results were projected to a large screen. In
the only contested local race, neither candidate for sheriff was present.
Sheriff Steve Nichols won as Republican candidate with no Democrat entered.
Treasurer Vicki Dugan, Circuit Clerk Mary Kelley, Coroner Bob Thomas and his
wife, Penny, and county board member Chuck Ruben were the few local officials
present as the final counts came in for the evening. Two representatives from
Reuters, an international news agency, were guests at the media table for the
first time in Logan County.

Oh,
man! We really wanted at least that little
pile to be gone at picture time yesterday, but it
didn't quite make it. Today for sure. And, we see that thanks to another sunny day Tuesday,
the big pile also shrank! Yeah!
