Between sessions, guests were invited to enjoy
a variety of sweet treats along with plenty of coffee and other
beverages.
The workshops entitled "Food Forest Project"
and "Eating Local With the Seasons" were conducted by Davie Bishop
and Katie Bishop respectively. The Bishops are from PrairiErth
Farm, Atlanta.
Dave spoke about the farm and how they use
every foot of their growing space for multiple crops. They do
this with a tiering of plants, growing a root crop with berry
bushes above that and fruit trees above the bushes. They make every foot
of their acreage count for something.
He also spoke about growing organically and
using natural resources as food for plants.
