Lincoln- Gladys Chowaniec, 87, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Gary Long officiating.

Gladys was born in Chicago on September 12, 1926, the daughter of Thomas and Josephine Piskorzub Chowaniec.

She was never married.

She was the last of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Chester, Leo, Raymond, Florian (Whitey) and Edward; and one sister: Mabel.

Ms. Chowaniec had been employed at Guzzardo's Fine Italian Restaurant and later as a Foster Grandparent at Lincoln Development Center. She was a former member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary #2708 and Daughters of Isabella.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
