MIDDLETOWN - Eighth-grade students
Clayton and Grace Skelton, twins from New Holland-Middletown
Elementary District 88, recently received a 1st place, superior
ribbon at the Illinois State History Fair in Springfield on May 8,
2014. Prior to this, they won the Regional History Fair in
Springfield in March.

Their project was a model and exhibit of the J.W. Mowry building
in Middletown, which was a town general store during the town’s
history. This project will now be displayed at the Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Museum in Springfield.
Mr. Jerry Neisler, the Skeltons’ History teacher, described their
project as “well-organized, very detailed summary of local history.”
He is extremely proud that two NH-M students took the First Prize
Award.
