Two Route 66 icons in one picture might be hard to imagine, but on Wednesday morning it actually happened for a split second.  The city of Lincoln has removed the iconic Tropics sign from its more than half-century home at the corner of Lincoln Parkway and Woodlawn Road.  In moving the sign, it passed by the world's largest covered wagon.  The Tropics sign will be stored by the city until such a time as it can be fully restored and relocated to a new permanent home.  LDN will have complete pictorial coverage of the move in its Friday edition.
