Obituary Catherine Marie
Boyer, 75, of Lincoln, passed away May 15, 2014 at
The Christian Village in Lincoln surrounded by her
loving family.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 19,
2014 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, May 20, 2014 also at the funeral home with
Chaplian Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Burial will
follow in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Catherine was born June 4, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant,
Iowa, the daughter of Herbert Russell Brown and
Gertrude (Weston) Brown. She married Harold Paul
Boyer on November 20, 1956 in Greenview, IL. He
preceded her in death on December 4, 1985.
During her early childhood Catherine was a resident
of the Soldier's and Sailor's Children's Home in
Normal, IL. She was employed at St. Clara's Manor
and Lincoln Developmental Center in Housekeeping and
formerly worked at the Lincoln Bottle Factory. In
addition to caring for her own large family
Catherine was a Foster Grandparent for CIEDC.

Surviving are her children: Susan (the late Bob)
Durham of Bloomington, IL., Janice (Dan) Herrin of
Lincoln, IL., Mark (Georgia) Boyer of Bloomington,
IL., and Kevin Boyer of Lincoln, IL.; her siblings:
Jacqueline Overman of Norfolk, VA., Nancy (Bob)
Rickord of Lincoln, IL., Phyllis (Gary) Bussman of
Bloomington, IL, Phillip Brown of San Diego, CA.,
and Virginia "Ginny" (Jerry) ALcorn of Burbonnais,
IL.; also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 15 great
grandchildren and several nieces, nephews ,cousins,
foster siblings, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son
Randy Boyer, infant son Roger Dale Boyer, and great
grandsons Ethan Nicholas and James Michael Boyer.
Memorial Donations may be made to Safe Haven
Hospice, The Christian Village, or Jefferson Street
Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral
home.

Christian Village and Safe Haven Hospice and to Dr.
Bivin and his staff.
