On Saturday, friends and families of Lincoln Christian University students packed the ground floor and balcony areas of the Earl C. Hargrove Chapel to standing room only.  The occasion was the 69th annual commencement.  Dr. Keith Ray welcomed everyone expressing sentiment of the occasion as an exciting moment when grads are transitioning into new lives. He added that he had that same feeling also as he said, "I am commencing with you." This was his last official exercise as president of the university.

Every year, the Olympia Ministerial Alliance awards scholarships to area seniors at graduation. The scholarship is named the “Scott Ewing Memorial Senior Scholarship” in honor of Scott Ewing, a youth minister from Minier who invested great time and concern in our area young people. He was tragically killed in an automobile accident in December of 2004.  The Olympia Ministerial Alliance is proud to announce this year’s award winners are Fraley Downey and Gabriele Meissner.
