The city of Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder visited with the 7th and 8th grade social studies class at Carroll Catholic School. The students had been preparing for the Illinois Constitution exam and invited Mayor Snyder to provide an overview of Lincoln city government and the role of the mayor. He then patiently answered the students many questions. The mayor presented each student with a penny depicting a young Abraham Lincoln taking a break from splitting rails by reading a book. The mayor encouraged the students to emulate Mr. Lincoln’s work ethic and love of reading. Thank you to Mayor Snyder for taking the time to visit with the students of Carroll Catholic School.
