July Road and Bridge Meeting

[October 17, 2014]  LINCOLN - Blue Room, Logan County Safety Complex July 7, 2014

Present: Andy Meister; Rick Aylesworth; David Blankenship; Bob Farmer; Gene Rohlfs
Absent: Chuck Ruben
Guests: Curt Fox; Kris Quandt

Mr. Meister called the meeting to order at 7:43 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Aylesworth, to approve the minutes from the June 2, 2014 meeting as printed. Motion passed.

The list of claims for payments was reviewed. A motion was made by Mr. Aylesworth, seconded by Mr. Farmer to approve the list of claims for payment. Motion passed.

Monthly report on current maintenance and construction: Mr. Quandt reported sealcoat operation began in mid-June. Three of the townships were completed by a contractor. The crew has been working along Nicholson Road near Epperson subdivision.

Old Business

Nicholson Road resurfacing project: Mr. Quandt reported there will be a pre-construction meeting with IDOT and the contractor later in the week.

Sign Upgrade Program: Mr. Quandt reported delivery of the steel sign posts is not expected until August.

New Business

Resolution to approve County Aid requested for funding from County Bridge fund to place riprap under a bridge in Elkhart Township on 1100th Avenue near Cornland: A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to approve County Aid request for funding from County Bridge Fund to replace riprap under a bridge in Elkhart Township. Motion passed.

Approval of a construction contract for placement of riprap under a bridge in Elkhart Township. Section 114-B-CA: A motion was made by Mr. Aylesworth, seconded by Mr. Blankenship, to approve up to $40,000 for construction contract for placement of riprap under bridge in Elkhart Township.

A motion was made by Mr. Rohlfs, seconded by Mr. Farmer, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting ended at 7:57 p.m.
