							Obituary 
							Lincoln- Richard A. Hurley, 83, of Lincoln passed 
							away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Abraham 
							Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
 Graveside Services for Mr. Hurley will be held on 
							Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the New 
							Union Cemetery in Lincoln.

 Richard Anthony Hurley was born on January 11, 1931 
							in Lincoln the son of Carl and Anna Werkman Hurley. 
							He was united in marriage to Carole Joyce Holderman 
							on November 25, 1954 at the Painesville Church of 
							Christ in Painesville, OH. She survives in Lincoln.
 
 Also surviving are his three sons: Lyndel (Kathy) 
							Hurley of Athens, Ga., Todd (Fabiana) Hurley of 
							Miami, Fl., Lloyd (Pam) Hurley of Seminole, Fl., Two 
							brothers: Virgil (Judy) Hurley of Oceanside, CA., Ed 
							(Ruth) Hurley of Lincoln.  One sister: Linda 
							(Jerry) Woodard of Lincoln, Nine grandchildren: Erin 
							Wilson, Evan Wilson, Cole Hurley, Claire Hurley, 
							Lucas Hurley, Emily Hurley, Joshua Newsome, Jeremy 
							Newsome, Erin Newsome. One great grandson: Kaleb 
							Newsome.
 
 He was preceded in death by one daughter: Melonie 
							Hurley, Five siblings: Thelma Fulk, Carl Hurley Jr., 
							Bill Hurley, Harold Hurley, Claude Hurley

							Dick attended Lincoln Elementary and High School 
							graduating in 1949. He then graduated from Lincoln 
							Bible Institute in 1955. Later from Northeast 
							Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman 
							University) in May 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in 
							Education. and then from Truman University with a 
							Master of Art's Degree in August 1959. 
							He taught in Greentop and Shelbina Missouri, Quincy, 
							Illinois, Webster School before returning to Logan 
							County as a teacher and principal at Emden, Il., He 
							finished his 30 years of teaching in District # 27 
							in Lincoln.
 He owned and operated the Hurley Real Estate 
							business for over 50 years.
 He served on the Logan County Board for twenty - 
							eight years, being Chairman of the board from 1986- 
							1988.
 He is a member of the Lincoln Christian Church where 
							also served as an Elder.
