The path for Lawrence Frank to join Doc Rivers' staff in Los Angeles
is wide open. Frank's second stint with the Nets came to an end
Thursday when the team and Frank reached an agreement on a buyout.
Frank, who was hired last summer to be Jason Kidd's number one
assistant, had signed a reported six-year deal worth around $6
million. The Nets brought in Frank -- a former head coach with the
Nets -- for his experience to help Kidd. The relationship between
Frank and Kidd deteriorated quickly and within about five weeks,
Frank was demoted to compiling daily reports.

Kidd has since left Brooklyn to coach the Milwaukee Bucks.
