With the theme of “Honoring God
with a Faithful Past and a Thriving Future,” The Christian Village
is celebrating its 50th anniversary with special festivities on
Saturday, April 25.

The day will start with a special ceremony at 9:30 am, in front of
the nursing home entrance on Seventh Street. From 10 am to 1 pm, a
flea market, children’s activities, a wellness fair and live music
will be available. The children’s activities will include mini-golf,
carnival games, a bounce house, a super hero photo stand, a petting
zoo, a craft station, a balloon artist and a fire truck.
As a thank-you to supporters in the community, a free barbecue lunch
will be served from 11 am to 1 pm, as long as the food lasts.
Those attending should plan to enter The Christian Village via Main
Street (off of Fifth Street) because Seventh Street will be closed
near Postville Drive.
A free concert of the Illinois Symphony
Orchestra will conclude the celebration that evening. The concert,
sponsored by Shore Builders, Inc., will be at 7 pm in the Earl C
Hargrove Chapel at Lincoln Christian University. Tickets are not
needed, but seating is limited.
