With
the snip of a ribbon, a year of celebration begins
at Lincoln College. With the original Charter for
the college being approved by the Illinois General
Assembly on February 6, 1865; Friday was the true
150th anniversary of the college's Charter Day,
first called Lincoln University. The celebration
will continue with several events throughout the
year. This weekend, on Sunday there will be a
Charter Day program held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
at the Johnston Center for Performing Arts. The
public is invited to come join in the celebration.
LDN will offer additional coverage of the ribbon cut
and Sunday program in next week's editions.
